The Last Straw Café was built in 2005 to sell organic fruit that was dried in solar tunnel dryers located on the premises. The café also offered a small range of certified organic groceries and tea and coffee. The sales outlet was made open to the public, but Yao and John wanted an alternative and refreshing environment to entice patronage.

Not long after opening, we decided to make it a more intimate experience by sharing authentic home cooked Thai food that was paramount to Yao’s upbringing.  The food would be accompanied by coffee freshly roasted in the café to cleanse the palette.
